Not one for IP theft but news is that a stone island replica manufacturer is going to make the J1A-GTKP and sell it for $360~ next year. Apparently that guy's stone island replicas are pretty on point, like 9.5/10 retail. The biggest news is that it's going to be using real gore-tex... don't shoot the messenger, I don't condone this shit. Just that if he makes it as well as he says he will, the pricetag on ACR is going to be a lot harder to justify.... edit: of course I get negrep lol, but dw im already -40 rep so i have nothing more to lose
  5. “Death or Glory” is my all time favorite Clash song. The bass line for “Guns of Brixton” is so simple, but absolutely brilliant at the same time.

Honestly I think it’s a bit hard to distinguish all the differences and nuances to each denim that WH offers. Besides the yarn sizes and cotton origins there’s not much more information to go off of as far as I know. We don’t really know how the new Deadstock Blues will fade yet since they are brand new. I’m planning on taking pictures of my different Warehouse denims tomorrow hopefully for comparison’s sake. Maybe that’ll help shed some light on the topic.

Sandinista is a very underrated album in my opinion, the triple vinyl doesn’t help. Magnificent 7 is a great track, Police and Thieves too but strangely, I’ve always liked when Ivan meets GI Joe!

    RESOLUTE by hayashi-san!

Had this been posted yet? Seems to be quite recent. https://www.japanalogue.com/resolutes-yoshiyuki-hayashi/ I found this part very interesting. Was just thinking about that recently. It makes sense, that he offers all these inseam options. "So most people cut their jeans at various lengths according to their height, right? But you can see that, depending on how much they cut, how far up the jeans they go, it’s totally affecting the taper…it’s disappearing. This is what happens with normal jeans when they come in a set length and then you rely on hemming to fit every customer. You ruin the silhouette."

Denim Blunders, Reflections and General Nonsense.

In my first couple years of high school, I was part of a friend group of intense 4 channers - all dedicated gamers, history (specifically WWII) nerds and European car enthusiasts. A lot of our group behaviour revolved around meme references and off-colour jokes, and growing up with them in the early social media era we were always the trolls, quick to jump in and exacerbate teenage drama, and never shy of open racism and misogyny (which, shamefully, was par for the course in my school at that time). We grew apart gradually but I stayed on the periphery of their group in the last two years before graduation. I suppose what we had in common ideologically was our self-identification as anti-establishment, “free” thinkers, though I tended more towards the Beats while they leaned decidedly libertarian. In our last year of school, I got totally wrapped up in Occupy and the resurgent feminist movement, and became obsessed with discourse about patriarchy, privilege and income inequality that was becoming popular at that period of time. That brought me to reddit, which I really think of as the counterpoint to 4chan in that era, the other popular catch-all forum that I can remember being really popular among people my age. My closest friend in this group, at the same time, was becoming totally absorbed in what became Gamergate, started writing long essays on men’s rights, and became really interested in guns and military procedures, all things I knew traced back to popular discourse on 4chan. It’s fascinating to me to look back on how deeply divergent and politicized this split became, as within two years after graduation, when we’d become more aware of ourselves politically, we realized we were totally at odds and had nothing to say to each other. I reflect all the time on this period because, having grown up right in the middle of it (I was born in 1994), I feel among the first generation of adults who had our ideological values informed largely, if not primarily, by what started out as special interest and hobby groups on the Internet. And it makes me wonder whether the intensity of the divisions we see today can be traced back, at least in part, to smaller and not necessarily “political” divergences within these sorts of communities in the early 2000s. I’m totally not intending for this to be a politically or ideologically divisive post as it seems to be a totally global phenomenon - if anyone has any thoughts on it I’d be curious to hear them, especially from people older than myself who might have had a greater political consciousness at that time. (As an aside: had 4chan and related forums not been such a central part of my life as a teenager, I likely wouldn’t have been drawn to reddit, and so wouldn’t have gotten into denim and ended up here. Weird coincidences lol!)

@JMS I have the ‘47’s, and I find them to be true to waist size, and they’re capable of stretching too. They’re roomy, so I’d take the smaller of your two sizes. I have a pair of them in 32, and everything else I own is 32 as well (except for my Ooe)

I really like the fit of mine in M. It sits all the way down, without too much stacking at the ankle. Enough room for my larger calves as well. Kinda feels more like a straight style pant vs more relaxed. Normally I wear slim or skinny cut pants depending on my mood, but this has a really nice feel and look. Still debating on getting the J68 since there’s some Alpha Green left. Not sure if sizing up is a good idea, or if I should stick with a large.
