I have a few in white and grey, I frequently wash them on hot and tumble dry; they've shrunk up two sizes in the body length, but the width has remained relatively stable.

The Copper King repro just arrived, and damn is the fabric stiff compared to the 101-J I've been wearing. When the description says high sleeve holes, they really mean it. Gonna throw it in the wash and dryer to soften it up and put up some pics when I get the chance... it's a ballin' jacket

I have the black, white, and grey Whitesville tees and they all shrank a full size with a cold wash. I imagine they would shrink even more if washed on hot and tumble dried.

He does do ropers, at least I think I've seen some on his Instagram. Rios does a lot of interesting models as well, most of them a little flashy for my liking. Some of the models they've done for Japanese retailers are interesting. That would be a lot longer of a road trip if I wanted to see the factory.

Denim Blunders, Reflections and General Nonsense.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Their standard international markup is high enough that they should still be taking in plenty. Even if every other brand’s international partners did pass the tariffs directly on to customers, IH would still be one of the more expensive options, relative to domestic pricing -
^ Does he do ropers, or just true western boots? The big draw of the Black Bear Brand models, for me, is that they’re the only boots I’ve seen from Rios (or any of the standard western boot brands, honestly, although I can’t claim to have done a very exhaustive search) that ship with a gum sole and a low heel.

I've already told myself that if we ever end up leaving Austin and moving elsewhere I'll get a pair made by Lee Miller from Texas Traditions. His workshop is only a few miles from our house, they're much more of an investment however compared to the RW.

I haven't bought anything from Iron Heart in many years, but still get their emails. In their latest blast, they mention they're going to cover all duty fees associated with purchases made by US customers. Duty fees could be anywhere from 10% - 50%. I've got to say, this is pretty huge and kudos to IH for taking this on.

…uh, and THE BEAR switched from Schwanen to Whitesville for a reason 😉
-
Twice a year ish I still go back and forth about ordering the ropers that Rios of Mercedes does for Black Bear Brand—if I ever end up going for a boot of that style it’ll be those, without question

Anyone going to be in Osaka on September 21st? Slash is releasing a tux at the Samurai shop, he's done these pairs in the past where he uses Samurai's denim and hardware. Would love a pair, I tried on some of the S2000HX (which I think use the same 15 oz. denim) but talked myself out of them. Here's a link to the Instagram post, and the Osaka shop has a few other posts referencing the previous releases.

Looks like Red Wing is bringing back the Pecos boots in Hawthorne Muleskinner, been wanting some roper style boots lately so might give these a try. Seems like a more affordable option than the Lofgren Duke Ropers, which seem to be impossible to find in my size.

Hey, that’s exactly my size…. just saying 😛 that fit looks good though layered over a tee and the denim’s such a nice shade of blue! Looks really good with those jeans. Great pickup!

I tested it out with a lint brush once and the black jeans picked up a ton more hair than any indigos I have. I have noticed that when you wash both, the black always have more static too. -
M11027 Shoulders: 42cm (listed as 44cm) Chest: 50cm (listed as 51cm) Sleeve from arm opening: 56cm (listed as 57cm) Back length: 52.5cm (listed 53cm) No size markings left on patch Single sided pocket tag - no text on back or mention of size Body and sleeve length are good but extra width would have been nice. At rest the shoulders are okay but I could use a few extra cm mobility-wise

I don’t even have a pet right now but anyways, yes, I do find this to be the case. Always thought it was the visibility factor though as most black denim I’ve owned has actually tended to be more uniform and smooth. -

Could also be the contrast. Black/Black would lend more contrast to lighter things like dirt, pet hair, etc., as opposed to black/white or blue/white fabric itself having some variation in color. This probably helps obscure dirt and anything else on the surface since it's already visually broken up, but I could be wrong
