What to look for in vintage sweatshirts?

I've been lurking around for info on those loopwheeler sweatshirts and now I'm curious as to what type of details to be looking for in vintage sweatshirts, i.e. what types of manufacturing techniques did they used to use in the 50's that makes them so special? I've seen the term "reverse weave" thrown around alot... what does that mean exactly?

V stitch neck, 4+ inch cuff and waist rib, nice lean silouette fit. Of course, only %100 cotton.

These are what I like in a true vintage sweat and they usually are going to cost you if they are in good shape. Some good repros out there currently. There is a thread on them I think.
