Samurai Jeans - My new pair

I'll have to measure but I would say to the tag size of 36. I could cuff them still if I wanted but with a pair of Dunks they bunch up grate and are not dragging on the floor. Will take some more pics if anybody would like me to. I'll measure them up tomorrow.

Can anybody recommend the best starch to pick up to use? Just any general stuff from the supermarket or is there one I should look out for?

this is how Samurai measure their jeans

This gives the REAL measurement. Measuring the back of the waist band does NOT.

There are charts for Samurai's and most other brands, I trust these much more than any single user on a message board. 36x36 tagged = 36x36 after wash

I just want these questions to end..

no offense to anyone

I trust the person who's just bought the Samurais to kindly measure the inside leg seam, once washed.

I'm sorry, but Im not going to spend around 300 US $ on some jeans just from Samurai's care label if I can ask someone 'Western' with experience of these jeans to give me his verdict.

What manufacturers casually call "sanforized" and "unsanforized" varies enormously between brands, and in my experience means that some shrink greatly while others remain, regardless of the 'charts'.

I don't read Japanese so demanding I look at Samurai's size charts isnt really going to help me much.

If you are a tall man, (i.e over 6-2 +) you would understand why those of us who are tall repeatedly ask about length shrinkage on brands we have not yet bought.

If you are 'regular' or 'short' height, then I suppose you are lucky because you can pretty much buy any jeans and get them shortened once final shrinkage has occured.

no prewashed or factory faded jeans have ot fading like those on samurai homepage or nudies.am i right that these re the same jeans!!

Sure, look at distressed denim. Samurai probably (actually, don't see any on their site...) makes them, though they probably won't look as good and the wear probably won't line up on your body correctly.

samurai don't offer distressed or pre-faded jeans to my knowledge

i think it's possible to get one wash versions if you'd like to get a one day head start

you could check yahoo auctions in japan, maybe there are worn in ones there

Pics after one cold soak then a day or so later a 40 degree wash. Leg length now measures 36 from crotch to hem as per the tag

  • 6 months later...

I guess this is the best place to post pictures of my new 0505xx. I soaked them by wearing them in a hot bath for 30 minutes, and then wore them until they dried out. This is how they now fit*:

soaked-worn-back-r.jpg

The label size is 30Wx36L. I'm 6ft / 155lbs and I like to wear my jeans low (as you can see). The waist has pretty much stretched out to a true 34/34.5" with me continually pulling them down from my waist into my hips.

*Excuse the messy kitchen!
