Sounds like a geeky question, but need to know this... Looking at aeroleatherclothings page, I see they have quite a few nice replicas of Lee 101B jeans. Now apart from the different detailing, is there a general difference in terms of the cut between the 1934, '37 and '44 replicas? Any help appreciated - THANKS!!

The 1937 isn't listed on lee japans site.

http://lee-japan.jp/

Looking at the 1937, it's 11.5 0z as opposed to the 1936 and 1939's 12.5 oz.

The 1937 also shares the same pocket tab as the 1939, yet different pocket design.

Strange. Anyone care to shed some light?

Looks like they've changed the range. Previously they produced a 34, 37 and 44. The 34 had the 'Lee Mercantile co' label on the 'wrong' side; the 37 was hair on hide, and the 44 had the modern, lazy s back pocket design. The new range is bizarre, and the 26 design has the wrong pocket - maybe cos the original ripped off Levi's, and they can't do that now due to trademark restrictions. Even so, the shape looks different from the vintage 20s ones I've seen.

Someone at Lee told me I was wrong in thinking the fitting was slimmer going from 34 to 37 to 44, I think they said the 34 was slimmer than the 37. But I haven't a clue about the new range; all those cuts look very slim, but I would love to know more from someone who's worn the things...

A comparison of the new range that's better on the eye:

It would be interesting to know how authentic these are.

Also begs the question, how regularly was the design changed, and by how much.
