clothing rivets

Recommended Posts

I am 100 one off shirts for Earth Wind & Fire's 35th anniversary (most of you will have never heard of them I presume) and want to attach a numbered tag using a rivet, such as in jeans.

Any ideas where I can get a rivet tool and rivets? I was thinking of trawling round the NY garment district but if anyone has any advice or can save me some legwork I would appreciate it.

check leather goods stores. they sell 2 piece rivets with the male/female setter. i believe they have them for different thicknesses. they should also have grommets, which would punch out the center. they should have different things in different metals.

tandy has TONS of styles --

i'd also look at stores like michaels or pearl. i think they both carry this line of scrapbooking materials. if this is just for paper tags, there is a company called making memories that makes a one piece eyelet w/ setter. they come in a ton of colors. only drawback is that he back of the eyelet isn't as clean looking as a 2 piece grommet.

you're welcome and you can PM me for an address to send a shirt to. just kidding.

perfect. Thanks mlproject.

I love the fact that this forum has equal servings of use, abuse and altruism.

BTW, Philip Bailey came up with a great phrase when he said that EWF had being going so long that they had gone "From 8 track to iPod". Their track "September" has been played on American radio 2 million times - that is over 10 years of back to back plays!

Their last album was nominated for a Grammy and had collaborations with the Black Eyed Peas and Oukast mebers - and they still haven't sold out to Wank of America like the Strolling Bones.

That is why I am doing my first ever collaboration with them on these shirts. All 100 are donated to the band, who will work on them too and use them to raise money for their charity or give them to deserving people in each city they play.

Sorry for the waffling
