While I can see what some of those people mean about real life being boooring, I realized that actual Avatar people DO exist in the rurals of the amazon jungle but there is no way in hell would I ever voluntarily convert to their lifestyle. There are too many modern advancements we take for granted.

Cameron has romanticized that amazonian lifestyle and paired it with a fool proof storyline, and this is why it will (if not already) be the highest grossing film of all time.

I have more or less deduced that this is all just a effect of the 3d on peoples minds who are not ready. Media has a huge effect on us, and this is a new media, at least in the level of execution. I dont think they are missing pandora as much as they are the experience of seeing things in this new way. It helps that there are elements to the story that make it something to admire, but i think we will see story arc hit people in new ways with this tech, its a brave new world people.

let me tell you, even i'm starting to believe it's the greatest film-going experience too..
