I'd like to start a thread about making your own, and particularly about where to get the pieces...

I'm looking for a good place to get staple buttons or tack buttons and good selvedge denim....

anything and everything about his would be helpful...

Judging by the fact that we're in superdenim and he asked about selvedge denim and buttons, the only reasonable conclusion would be that he is attempting to make a strap-on.

yes, one would instantly think that was what I was going to make, but in actuality, I wanted to make a pair of jeans, without a strap-on. But maybe once I get to be a good tailor, I'll make a special pair for you!

For denim try the premium denim outlet. they have some decent cone stuff for like $4 a yard. Ridiculous at that price.
