lvc 1955 fit

Interesting....I just measured a pair of 55s against some 44s and the 55s are definitely looser. However i only have one pair of 44s and I have around 20 55's but all are 555 stamp made in the original factory so maybe the cut has changed slightly now ? As I say, my comments re the 47s relate to the 555 issues of 1999/2000.

Yes, it's hard when you compare different batches, which can vary hugely from one issue to the next. But generally, the prewar Levi's were baggier than postwar, and the 44 is defined by Levi's as closer to, say, a 1933 jean, and the 55 as closer to the 47. 20 pairs of 1955 jeans certainly is a decent-sized sample!

WHat complicates discussions of the shapes is that LVC jeans are all differently sized - a 1947 34W is smaller than a 1933 34W. At some point I hope to get thru to the pattern cutter of LVC to get her explanation of all the variables.
