treating cashmere

So i got this cashmere sweater a while ago, and over time its started to stretch lengthwise and im getting flaps n shit. its not cool. Normally when i clean them, i send them to the dry cleaners. is there anyway i can shrink them? theres a 'dedlicates' setting in my washing machine...

I wouldn't try to throw it in the washing machine, try a hand wash like Ryan said. My mom threw one of my cashmere sweaters in the washing machine and now it has all these little ball looking things all over it, ruined the texture.

You should hand wash cashmere in cold water with a mild detergent and lay flat to dry. If it starts to pill, use a fabric shaver to clean it up.
