Yohji Yamamoto Pour Homme S/S 2010

I read your review, inaya and I have to be a super downer about this collection. All the silhouettes and even the proportions aren't doing it for me this time around.

This is just lame. None of the fun cutting or cool shapes that I think of when I think "Yohji". It's boxy, looks uncomfortable, and has more in common with Frankenstein than fashion.

he only ever said he wasn't going to do a runway show, never that there would be no presentation whatsoever.

Exactly, no runway show but he had a showroom and the pics posted from this thread are from the lookbook. I took some picture of Chant wearing some of the clothes on the rack, will post at some point.

You went to the showroom? What was your opinion on this collection? AFAIK, Yohji is not something you often wear, but it would be interesting to hear your reaction to the clothes. I'm not very fond of the lookbook looks but perhaps the clothes/outfits were nicer/better presented in the showroom..? Looking forward to your pics.

It's very classic Yohji with one interesting twist; he didn't use any of the military references of his last collections. The clothes are wearable, well-made and use interesting fabrics. Not groundbreaking but a good selection of archive and a few new references aimed at people who already wear Yohji. A runway show would have been redundant but if you already wear and love Yohji you will kop quite a few pieces fer sure.
