I think the important thing is that KVA isn't trying to "re-do" Hedi Dior, but is going with his own logical progression of the brand. I just think that it might be a little too late. Can't really wash the taste of this out of my mouth:

i think he tried doing that to an extent with his first two collections at dior homme. he did the whole "here's my own touches on the dior homme standard," which ended in ill-fitting clothing and compeletely-out-of-place touches of color. not to mention those obnoxious sunglasses.

this preview shows that, as tim blanks told him to do, kva has taken a deep breath and relax. finally.

sadly...he is.

I heard a pretty staggering percentage of how much sales have dropped in the last two years recently. It's very safe to say that KVA fucked up something great.

to be honest, he really isn't doing a horrible job-- he has his moments where the clothes just work. he's gotten better since 2008, in my opinion. the shadow of slimane is really what throws people off.
