I'd advise against tailoring these things...the knee embroidery needs to stay centered....besides, it would be blasphemy to tamper with Miyashita's work

But yeah, the tagged size really doesn't tell you much....It's only the waist that's a little roomy on these...I'd say that, aside from the waist, they fit more like a size 2 (in your typical, 100% cotton, tight n(n) jeans).
