the truth behind levis shuttle looms

so you've all heard the myths and the rumours, I was talking to the boss of the levis concession at work, and she mentioned to me that at their head office in london they were discussing the rumours floating around about the looms bieng sold to evisu or stored by then or whatever.. and the truth is...

the 22 inch shuttle looms were never owned by levis, they were owned by the factory where the denim was produced and the redline selvage which was never patented, so when levis changed to making very little selvage denim the looms were left at the factory. Today all of levis selvage denim is made on these looms and they still use the original looms from back in the day. Levis were amazed and shocked about the rumours, but my friend couldnt remember which factory they were in.

I don't know who produces the normal evisu stuff but I know kuroki does the veggie jeans and some of the higher end shit.

as far as thelevis deal... cone has only been doing levis since 1904 and wasn't their only supplier until the 80s I belive. they worked with a lot of other looms even while cone was doing their shit and I can almost guarantee that cone didn't start off acting as their primary supplier. but yeah anyway... who the hell was levis pushing their shit with before 1904??
