pete rock killed the real hip hop mix and did a good jump around.

lets talk about remixes that are better than the original.

how high remix (the one used for the video) is better than the og.

so is all i need ft mary j blige. the video version was way better than the one on tical.

flava in ya ear gets best of all time for the "i gets more butt than ashtrays" line alone.

theres a stakes is high remix that might have been pete rock thats untouchable.

jayrock fucked up actually posted the original that someone fucked up posting with overlapping verses. the remix cuts the 'how sick..." line for a vocal sample of a girl singing "....up to the sky". i thtink it was called the fly robin fly remix.

i didnt even know that track was on blackout. the fly robin fly one is the remix and the "so sick that you can suck my dick" is the og. this came out on the OST for the show and as a video first. then the 12"/maxi single came out. i think the show had the og but the video was the remix and people were scrambling to find out how to get the remix, so when the single dropped, everyone was copping that shit. again, same thing with all i need. if you bought tical, you just got meth. but when the video came out w mary j, you had to go kop the single on top of the album to maximize smoothness.

for some reason i have two copies of blackout, and that first beat i posted is the same version. it is titled "how high (remix)" on blackout, but it is the only version of the song on the album (no "original")

on the soundtrack for a documentary entitled The Show.

that soundtrack is legendary. summertime in the lbc is the jam!

jayrock, maybe theres some subtle difference between the version from the show and the one from blackout that would make it a remix, but im not hearing it. i wouldnt go with the blackout tracklist since that record came out long after this song blew up. ill find the track list from the 12".
