Any thoughts?

Whats the differences, and the sizes down there. The US size, is it inches at the waist? If so they only have 30" left for the lighter ones.

Please please please help me with this, im addicted to buy Dior Raw :P

nor does the sourcing of the denim from Japan necessarily indicate a higher level of quality. 1921 gets all their denim from Japan, and I wouldn't rank them above a lot of the LA designers that use turkish or other "lower end" denim

Yep, just about; The 29 fits like they're designed to, ie. a tad slouchy and low hung. If I wore a 28 they'd be fitted around the waist and wouldn't really achieve the same look. I'm loving the size more and more as I wear them; I'm really looking forward to the first wash though, they're going to be perfect.

Quote: Tragic, How you liking the black raw diors? any idea how they will wear?

The black raw Diors are great. They're Japanse "Finished" I guess? People are saying that just because they say "Made in Japan" doesn't mean they are Japanese denim... But I figure, what the fuck would Dior be outsourcing to Japan or Italy if it wasn't denim? Whatever. They're def. stiffer than the Italian raws I have, really slubby and have these tinny little imperfections of white cotton... Just beautiful. I'll take pictures later today when I get them back from the alterations place, I had them hemmed a little shorter.

The wear hould be pretty nice. I'm thinking of trying to go a year without washing them instead of 6 months, just because I've heard that black denim doesn't wear as easily... But we'll see.

I don't know the actual measurement of my waist. I can wear anything from a 27-30 in defferent denim. I'll have to measure when I get home later and I'll let you know.

alright fellas,

bit of a raw denim 'newbie' so please resist scornful and sarcastic remarks...

just got some DH jeans, Made In Italy, appear to be raw, 21cm

problem is they are size 36 (im quite a big lad) but they are too big. If i wash these will they shrink, and by how much? What would happen to the fabric?

thanks for your answers and patience

cheers

The NYC Dior Homme only carries the raw black "Made in Italy". Where did you buy the made in Japan? Thanks,

Anyone got any pics of their dry DH denim after a wash? I have been weraing my dry Diors (made in Japan - never seen a made in Italy pair of Dry Diors here in London) for 6 months now and I still love them. Have worn them nearly every day (!) but not getting a huge amount of fading so not sure whether to go a further 6 months or just wash them now...

Also, it's hard to tell how the Diors are going to fit - you really do need to try them on. I am a 27 waist in the dry, a 28 in the washed black denim and a 27 in the washed blue denim and a 28 in another pair so it really does depend. Alwyas try them if you can...Also I don't wear them loose or low - don't think it looks right with skinny jeans or straight legged jeans - I like them to fit without being actually tight (if you know what I mean) skinny jeans worn low and loose on the waist make you look like you haven't got an arse which is never a good look IMHO

  • 2 weeks later...

I was at the DH boutique on Rodeo today and there is definitely a difference between the Italian and Japanese jeans. The raw Italian denim indigo is much much darker than the raw Japanese indigo. The Italian denim is woven in a different direction than on the Japanese pair as well. Same thing for the raw black. I got the impression that the Japanese denim was produced in lower numbers and might have been limited to Dior Homme boutiques.

Just in case anyone was wondering.

So I'm about to pull the trigger and order some of the Japan from the LA boutique - would you say it's worth the extra $70? I'm about a 33.5 in waist so i'm going for the 30 raw cuz i hear the Japan will stretch out less than the Italy. This seem right to you guys? Thanks
