Wide legged mens trousers - wear high on waist?

Hi all

I've just picked up a great pair of wide leg trousers, just have a question on how high up the waist they are traditionally worn?

I know its all about how you want to wear them but from memory the style is a throwback to another time. And I'm very used to wearing skinny jeans just above my hips but not high up.

Any insights appreciated,

I would say a good indicator of where they should be worn is the rise measurement. if there is enough of a rise to wear them at your natural waist w/o having them crush your balls, then go ahead and hike them up because this is where they were probably designed to be worn.

fyi, "natural waist" is about 1" above your belly button.

i randomly scored a pair of '03 comme des garcons high-waisted, wide legged (with slight tapering), pleated charcoal grey wool pants about two months ago at a second hand store- $18!

this thread makes me happy about finding them.

I've changed the waist size from 30 to 31 as they feel much more comfortable sitting higher up the waist, and the leg was flapping as a result.
