knits look good [dunno how quality is]

maybe i will cop if US stockist get good stuff at decent price, or if they get their webshop up... although it always seems like when it reaches stores the pieces are really lackluster and a lot of the great stuff isn't even produced

the only US stockists i know of are Seven and Welcome Hunters LA. both have webshops, WH seems to usually have more available online and a wider range. we'll see.

i have a lot of their stuff and quality has never been an issue. same as Marjan Pejoski.

you're right about some things never making it to production, though.

oops, by their i meant KTZ's... they updated the layout of the 'coming soon' page though, ahaha

oh, right! yeah, that thing's been "under construction" for a while now it seems.

at any rate, i have definitely picked up a lot of stuff from Welcome Hunters. (i shop there a lot.) i hope they'll have a fairly full range this fall. Doshaburi (in Barcelona) has a webshop too, and they stock KTZ, but ordering from them seems to be a hassle. they have a lot of great stuff tho. Seven (online) is too, for that matter, but i usually just stop in if i'm around.

prices are reasonable, quality is good. just arrived at Welcome Hunters this week. Seven looks like they have some, but not a lot. the tiedye/puff "tube" top is sick... and the Richard Torry stuff they did is fucking dope, have my eye on a few of his knit pieces.

I don't get KTZ

it's like a crappy pastiche of good frute brands

i don't know about that. Richard Torry, Kokon to Zai and Marjan Pejoski all have pretty legit cred in my book.

sounds like you spend too much time on superfuture...

Can you elaborate a bit more? I usually just see those guys and file them under 'frute swaggerz' and 'do not wear' bins in my mind. I honestly can't tell them apart too well.

I agree. Marjan Pejoski is a great designer. There are other sort of mid-range brands doing similar things with, you know, the early 90's aesthetic and similar references, but he does it the best! This collection in particular is one of my favorites from KTZ. ..

Those black/white stripe leggings are nice, i really want those..

sure, the last bit about spending too much time on sufu just had to do with lingo like "frute swaggerz" and dismissing things that aren't necessarily popular on this messageboard, that's all. everyone has an opinion. whether it's actually their own or not is questionable here... or at least it seems that way... i've seen certain people (like diamonds) shit all over threads (like one i started, also a bout KTZ SS08) only later to backpedal and eat his own words after someone (who's opinion i can only imagine he values) set him straight about the shit he was talking.

the first bit was just pointing out that Kokon to Zai (as a shop/venue for forward design aas well as the KTZ label), Marjan Pejoski (co-founder/sometime designer for KTZ) and Richard Torry (who was a guest designer this season for KTZ) are all very legitimate and respectable, in my opinion. i don't really need to defend or explain why i think so. i suppose you can do your own research and learn about them, if you'd like...

you can't tell Marjan Pejoski apart from KTZ or RT? really? i don't believe you. have you even looked at them ever? they're completely different from one another and what's cool is that it all seems to work together nicely here.

in any case, it doesn't matter. if you don't like it, who cares... where's that 75 page threade about Supreme? riveting...

Marjan only designs for KTZ sometimes (under the Dark Horse moniker), but co-founded the store. his partner, Sasko Besovski , is the main designer for KTZ.

I LOVE Marjan Pejoski though... very, very different from KTZ. love his AW08 collection here

I like Marjan's own line a lot even though it's not at all prominent on here. I probably just don't get KTZ, but I feel as if it lacks direction, it just seems like it's an amalgamation of a bunch of other designers that seem much more innovative to me.

well, we can agree to disagree. i do see a slight MP influence here, but, yeah, he's very different.

in terms of innovation, i never proposed that KTZ was. by the same token, a label like Cassette Playa, who have a similar sensibility (and a larger following, here at least), are very good and anything but innovative. by comparison I see something like KTZ as being a little more creative and CP as sorta more throwback. i dig both, though.
