Famous Friends Still Open?

Tried calling the # listed on their site, but it was busy/out of service. I remember they were closed from mon-wed, but no one was there over the weekend. They had some of the best deals come sale time.

I talked to an Atelier SA who thought they were doing well...

....but I stopped by the shop at least three times. Absolutely barren.

This was back in June.

whichever atelier sa you talked to is a retard, because ff has been having financial problems for at least a year, maybe longer

I told him to go into premium Japanese denim way back in 2005.

Blue in green took that niche market right from under him.

Shame.

im not sure if anything couldve really saved ff

the location was a huge hurdle

that area was supposed to pick up retail-wise and ff was one of the first few places to actually set up there and unfortunately, the buzz was all wrong. the lower east side ended up being the place to be and even still, that area of the east village has yet to see the upswing that was predicted years ago.

That block is beyond dead. I'm sad to hear that FF is gone…I was curious about them from the few times I tried to stop by.

I think some artist's gallery has taken up the shop's space.

And, yea, I had the opportunity to meet Richard too; he was really helpful.

back in 2004, he was the only shop in North America (or at least the states!) that carried Nudies, back when they were somewhat fashionable. He was def on to something..

That's completely true as far as location. It was such a pain to get out there. It's a shame though, a very underrated store.

yeah, I also bought my nudies back in 05 from richard @ famous friends. Dude was cool and helpful at the time.

I also bought my first pair of Nudies there. I loved the location, I live a few blocks away!
