h&m toronto - selvedge denim

for what it's worth, the h&m store @ yonge + dundas is stocking men's selvedge "unwashed" (their words, not mine) denim in a relaxed fit for sixtyish bucks. it seems pretty well put together (it's their "heritage" line...who knew h&m had a heritage?).

They seem pretty shitty if you ask me. The denim is paper-thin, flimsy, and doesn't look right.

But I didn't try them on...

I looked through all of the jeans at the local h&m and i couldnt see a single pair of selvage jeans. People were mentioning purple detailing on the selvage pair they saw, i saw a pair of dry jeans with purple stitching and they were not selvage.

I think I saw these jeans in the NY H&M on 34th street.

The denim was semi-rigid, but really was sort of on the thin side.

I'd dare say it almost felt brittle. Felt and looked unwashed, but

who knows...

Also, there was a sticker on the inside of the left leg, which had

been written on, in pen... gave a model number, factory number,

size, and denim origin (Japan on the pair I saw). It also said, in

big red block lettering, FACTORY COPY. Weird.

sort of late on this topic but i work at h&m yorkdale in toronto, in the mens section there is in fact a heritage line of jeans, they are unwashed and have purple selvage. the back pocket logo is done in white paint (evisu what?) and with a pretty wide leg opening. i think they're ugly - h&m really dropped the ball on this one. retailing for $59.90.

do you know if those jeans are at all of the H&M locations? Or more specifically, do you know if it's at the Bloor st. store?

i've seen them at the bloor location. leather patch, dotted line around the perimeter of the rear pockets.

i'm sure they would be... the bloor st location is targeted towards a younger audience, as far as i know they have the complete mens collection of denim. they're nothing to write home about though - save your money.

So i passed into the H&M at bloor today, curious to see what this selvage jean looked like...after basically looking at EVERY style of jean they had there, i found it.....

it's HIDEOUS.

nice green & purple selvage line, but the back pockets are fugly as hell.

in toronto go the the eaton centre's h and m, they are there at the back. very ugly and yes there is a selvedge. but who cares? should you buy a shitty pair of jeans just because it has a selvedge? no!!!!

the motif on the back pockets is very loud and stupid.
