there's never been much of an interesting current of fashion discussion at Sufu...i save my commentary and discussion on design aesthetics/philosophy for SZ, where it seems people can do this with a higher level of knowledge, self assurance and do it while distancing themselves from the consuming aspect of it. The latter point is what makes the fashion discussion on this site worthless. The superdenim channel works fine, but in terms of what djrajio mentioned (which was a very valid post), i have never been able to take Sufu seriously for that.

This board has managed to single handedly ruin my impression of brands i used to like and respect such as Dior Homme and Lanvin by turning them into a completely mindless hype train...and i don't think the influence held is minimal either, looking at how Lanvin is putting out a thousand different sneaker styles and print t-shirts at the moment. Obviously superfuture isn't the only one force responsible, and at the end of the day these companies gotta turn a profit...but where was everybody when people like Hedi, Raf, Elbaz/Ossendrijver were actually putting out something that made you think? I know age has something to do with it...but damn, i once read a thread on styleforum about "jean brands" and Dior, fucking Christian Dior the fashion house with an extensive legacy has been turned into a "jean brand." That is kind of disgusting IMHO...

also i find it sad that nowadays there is more individualism and thoughtful perspectives coming out of Styleforum, the forum supposedly ridiculed for its homogeneity than this place.
