Newb question, please help cause i am urgently looking for a trip this august!

anyone got good websites, hook ups for airline tickets to Europe? (LON, AMS, BER, ZRH)

i can depart either from YVR or Seatac airport... but i have no clue as to which website to look @.... I plan on going for 12 days.. anywhere after August 15 to August 30th.

Going to Europe in August will absolutely kill your wallet. Being one of the peak months for tourists, hotel rates are generally up and airfares from the US are insanely high. This is even more applicable this year with the Euro at an absurd high.

I consider myself pretty good at finding cheap fares on the net (usually check dozens of sites) and have generally found that flying from a MAJOR city in the US (LA, NY, SF) to a MAJOR city in Europe (Paris, Rome, Frankfurt) during the summer, you are looking at $1K minimum.

Fare Compare has a decent feature that allows you to search international flexible dates (most sites only allow you to do so domestically):

US Airways is one of the cheaper US-based airlines that flys to Europe:

Then try the regulars: Orbitz, Expedia, Cheaptickets

The airline's own sites ocassionally offer deals: BA, Lufthansa, Aer Lingus

Airninja.com can sometimes be useful, it gives you a list of all the budget carriers that fly a given route.
