thanks for the replies, i just forgotten an important point, we are contemplating on the idea of going there to search for hotels or capsule hotels. Youth hostels arent really our thing,we dont like the idea of haveing curfews, although the chance to meet other foriegners is seems 'interesting' i dont think that would be considered an option. Is it easy and cheaper to just hunt for a place to stay over there? Or would it be reccomended to book a place. i'm thinking of atleast trying out a capsule for a day or 2 at least.

We are asian chinese so i dont think they would be able to tell as i have been mistaken by japanese tourists to be one one of thier mates in the tour group, lol.

This trip will most likely be a tokyo one only, maybe yokohama, but not sure what we can do there yet.I'm there for the clothes, people, buildings, food,Rock(addresses for pubs or gigs happening would be great,i'm a huge Dir en Grey fan, i know they are having a tour now, but they wont be in tokyo, but i hope to find some band tees or something.) My pal is similar but more geared towards thier electronics.

Shopping wise i think we are pretty well prepared as i have a mag that has pics and locations of 100 tokyo stores in japanese so we can atleast point and ask if we do get lost.Superfuture maps are at hand too(this site is great!icon_smile_big.gif). i'm are thinking of getting unlimited passes but the train system is crazy.there are like 10 lines, i hope if i get, its the correct one that enables me to switch lines.

a good alternative to the rail pass is an airpass from city to city. It's about a 100 bucks each way.

and yes being white can be very advantageous in certain parts of japan.

I look very very japanese and none of the chinese hookers in roppongi would talk to me.

i saw on the japan apc website, seems the pricing in japan is alright, so i might be getting them over there. Then theres Agnes b and cloak, would i have to be prepared for some serious ass-raping prices for them? so far i heard that dior isnt good(pricewise) over there. I'm of course going there for japanese denim and stuff like uniqlo, but i'm looking to see whats good and reasonable.

I have never used credit cards overseas, so do they charge quite abit for the service? And is it better to convert my cash in my country rather than at their airport or in tokyo itself? Sorry if the questions sound stupid but i'm trying to figure out as much as possible.
