so as most of you probably know, the uniqlo store in Edison at the Menlow Park Mall opened today (and Vice has been selling their stuff all month). Have any of you had the chance to check the stuff out at Vice? I have to say, despite there being some good values, i wasn't super-impressed. There were no selvedge pieces despite them including pics of selvedge cuffs and descriptions of shuttle looms in their PR handout at the store, and the denim was all full cut (or what they are calling classic cut). Does anyone know if the store in Edison will carry the full line (or even what the full line includes)?

I was especailly disapointed with the sizing. I expect from a japanese company a fair amount of fitted cuts and small sizes. I bought a small tee and sweater and both are much larger than size small I have in other comparably priced brands (club manaco, j crew, banana). What gives? For those of you who have visted Uniqlo in Japan or London, is this a problem there as well or have they sized everything up to fit overweight americans (only half joking).

they should be carrying the selvedge denim. that is what i received in an email from uniqlo. as for the sizing, most likely they did alter it for americans. a medium uniqlo shirt from jp fits me more like a avg small from the states.. it only makes sense that they would adjust the sizing, their target demographic is basically the gap and old navy crowd..

The super soft plain hoodies were really nice for the price as well, but too bad they didn't have any smalls left.

there was definitely smalls.. int eh zip ups and the pullovers.. maybe not in a specific color you wanted but i saw some. also, they have 2 pairs of selvage jeans.. one loose fit darker wash and one bootcut lighter wash. i didnt like the washes too much and the loose fit was wack on me anyway. hopefully they get some different styles in.

so it's not just an american thing? weird. I can't understand why everything is so big there. The tees do shrink when you wash them, however (in case anyone bought any of the $5 tee shirts), almost a full size.

cashmere is alright, pills pretty easily, but you really can't beat the $90 dollar price tag for cashmere...(however, again, it's too big).
