mid price range slim fitting dress shirts.

I'm 6 ft 145lbs. A lot of mid-priced shirts that claim to be slim fitting dont seem to be. I love dior and helmut lang, but for more everyday, "to the office" shirts, that still have some character what does everyone reccomend?

Banana republic shirts always seem to be cut way too square. Its to bad because the quality and design is really nice.

I like the polo custom fit casula shirts, but not dress.

It seems "dress" shirts in general dont fit that well.

Anyone know how Tedd Baker dress shirts fit, any reccomendation on size?

what's the matter with the polo custom fit dress shirts? They have pretty wide range of conservative fabrics out and they fit good.

Polo custom fit shirts are not very slim in the body at all. Charles Tyrwhitt makes a "fitted" shirt but they aren't very slim. Thomas Pink slim fit? I don't think so. Their idea of slim is like 5"8 185lbs, 34 inch waist. I'm 6" 160 (broad shoulders and 30-31 inch waist) and generic brands' version of "slim fit" is never slim enough for me.

As for Ted Baker, their shirts are definitely slim enough for me. I can't speak for all of their shirts though, as I have only tried on 3 different ones (I bought them all because of their fit). The torso was cut slim and the arm holes were nice and high, which eliminated all of the extra, unnecessary fabric on the shirt. If you live in the NYC area you should just go to the Ted Baker store on Broome St. Sometimes you can find the shirts on sale for as low as $70.

If you are lucky enough to catch Paul Smith on sale (I was able to in June) you can pick up shirts at the PS store on 5th ave. for about $125. Still expensive for some, but I can say its worth it.

You can also pay a visit to your local tailor if you get fed up.

what about the opposite...

i need to cover 200 lbs, 5'11. 46 inch chest, 18 inch arms, and a 33 waist.

anyone know a brand that can cater to that? i've been DYING over here, anything I buy looks like a baloon when you put it on and makes you look hugely fat.

Hugo makes a slim line. Not Hugo Boss, just plain Hugo. They're just about the best-fitting shirts I own. They taper a bit around the stomach and have really nice collars. I don't have to think too much and they make me look good at the office. They cost somewhere between $125 and $150.

Do Brooks Brothers. They make amazing slim fitted shirts. Plus they can do custom tailor for not that much. There shirts are conservative for office too.

brooks brothers stuff looks nice, not the most interesting looking shirts however.

How do chest sizes work with the dress shirts? I know my neck and sleeve size. Are the chests just a generalized fit?

Chest size, arm hole size, waist size, etc. will be determined by the designer.
