Dry cleaning all right for dry wearing?

This may sound stupid but does dry cleaning ruin progress on a dry/raw pair of denim?

Dry cleaning is fine, but it might ruin your patch label if the label is leather (like on so many of the Japanese 501 style repros).

A Nudie Jeans representative said the following about dry cleaning:

"You could dry clean them but it would affect the final result. I would say that everything you do to them affects the outcome of the wash. Drycleaning doesn't make the the indigo bleed out from the fabric as in a normal wash. The denim gets a more greyish tint."

I don't know whether it is true or not. I know that there are at least three types of dry cleaning.

The only thing that "ruins progress on them" is not wearing them, and maybe washing them once a week.
