dropped in to roccos this morning, had a chat to them there. They couldnt really do what I was after, in terms of a combat work boot similar to butteros/ro/raf/w+h

might have to wait until dollar shapes up to get some boots then. will be strictly on an aussie label/store diet until it improves

damn, I guess they only make shoes based on the designs they have in store. I'll probably order a pair of cap toed oxfords and a pair of derbies made of either suede or distressed leather some time, none of the boots in the store really caught my eye. glad I pulled the trigger on some boots when it was still 86 yen to the dollar, hopefully they arrive tomorrow.

checked out assin today, they have n. hoolywood but it's a tiny selection, mainly just tees and sweats. apparently they have been contacted by Julius but decided not to stock it this season as it's basically a combination of all the brands they already stock.

also I'm surprised that the more avant-garde stores (assin, left, em) haven't been cleared out by international buyers yet due to the low value of the pacific peso...

yes but i will say the staff at assin are lovely, i think the owner was there when i was there last as she seemed to convey a power of authority through the place. She was really old, doesn't anyone know who owns it and if they/she/he? Though one of the staff there was a little bit backward in her view of the stocking of current season clothing.. still not rude about it, just a little daft...

yeah the staff are great at assin, probably some of the friendliest in melbourne. the 2 older ladies in the store are from the pinto family, who own and run assin, cose ipanema and eastern market. they are very nice but rather intimidating at the same time haha

Yeah, Chiodo sale starts tomorrow (17th) and runs for 3 days. I don't know what time it starts but it ends at 8pm tomorrow so plenty of time to suss it out.

It's at their store but not at the main space. Once past the sliding doors, there's a passageway to the left (just before the flight of stairs), go through it and should be there.

RE: Alpha60... I've recently discovered where they've gotten their plimsoles from. My suspicions were right and they are from a little Asian store where they're $10 each. Tsk tsk.
