non-disposable lunch containers

Recommended Posts

i am looking for non-disposable (read: reusable) food containers to replace my cheap plastic reusable containers that i suspect of giving me cancers of the everything

preferably date-rape-drug free (i.e. not made in china), aesthetically pleasing, not too bulky, and not cost-prohibitive

I forgot what brand it was, but Australian schoolkids usually have good plastic boxes that are shaped to fit sandwiches and Western foods, I had a good one growing up. Bentos are nice but usually fail in the sandwich containment category.

My dad still takes a lunch to work so I gave him some old Martin Margiela shopping bags to replace the paper sacks.

i'm also interested in this.

i have a plastic lunch box that i got from chinatown. one time after eating some microwaved leftovers in the lunch box, i awoke in a strange place, not remembering how i got there. and i had hickies.

probably the same kind of plastic found in chinese toys that metabolize into GHB

I had these, but they cracked when I dropped them

picked up a couple mr. bentos (for the wife and i)

first day with it today

it is fun albeit rather big

i used it to keep my leftovers cold without refrigeration

haven't yet used it to keep hot things hot

and a little dismayed that the containers are plastic

but i have gotten over my fear

the thing looks like a fucking explosive device

which is good

i like the idea that should my commuter train be immobilized in a tunnel

i could survive with the food i have packed in my mr bento

and my water bottle (that i don't yet have)

i strive to have everything i need to survive on my person at any given moment

think: white noise (delillo)

or the road (cormac mccarthy)

or some kinda survivorman beyond thunderdome deliciousness
