(please add designers/companies im forgetting)

what are common/recurring themes in american designers and clothes?

as a nation founded on representative democracy, how have our politics impacted clothing versus say, the aristocracy and bourgeois of france?

how does the protestant work ethic fit into the equation? what about other recent american phenomena, such as rock, blues or hip hop?

please post from favorite runway shows/collections as well

This is a really vague question. What defines a "designer"? Do they have to have major fashion show under their belt? A full cut&sew Line? Do they need a certain number of distribution centers? Does a house brand like Alfani count?

There is really only one American designer whos worthy of note these days, and thats Eric Glennie.

Thom Browne is not worthy then eh? )) First time in many years I felt like getting everything I saw being in his store yesterday and his Brook Brothers line is all bad as well. He is #1 right now. Easy.
