question about barneys

whats the difference between barneys CO-OP and regular barneys NY

Regular Barneys is mostly higher end labels Dior Homme, Jil Sanders, Alexander McQueen, etc. The Coop stocks emerging and smaller designers. Generally with a more casual feel. The main Barneys store has a coop floor in it. I believe it is the 5th.

I should add it really all depends on what floor you are on.

The Coops are generally pretty similar in the kind of stuff they stock.

Hey, I am in Chicago too and I went to the Barneys on Oak yesterday and the new Co-op on halsted today.

The Co-op is only men's sportswear, like someone said, it's basically more of what you find on the 3rd floor at the normal barneys on Oak.

But, they basically had the same stuff as of right now. The new Trovata line just came in at both, not very impressive, and they have the new line of Barking Iron t-shirts.

Other then that, it's the same old stuff at both. Lot of 7's, earnest sewns, rogan, stitches, Juicy, paul smith, marc jacobs, etc.

I picked up a Genera button down (just came in) and a old Trunk shirt.

The co-op in Chelsea is mostly men's. The one in Soho is almost entirely women's. The co-op floors in the UES store are bigger than either of the other stores.

Co op is a diffusion version of Barneys.
