the o2 London - cameras allowed?

going to see a gig there, so anyone who has been there before; are they strict about cameras?

it varies so much by place so thought I'd check..

they won't take your camera from you on the way in, but they will try to stop you using it inside. At the Prince gig in September they were camera Nazis and had "lookouts" posted to spot camera usage at evry entry / exit.

Yeah the Prince gig was outrageous, no use of cameras at all. But I think the purple one himself was behind the ban as its his image rights. O2 were just following his lead.

So case by case. Take it, try to use it, be prepared for them to moan at you.

Yeah Prince had his own extra special "NO CAMERAS" ting going on! Maybe he fears the cameras will take his Jehovah's Witness soul away!

I asked o2 beforehand, and someone from there replied that you can take pictures as long as its "not professional photography". I took my dslr with me, at the entrance a guy asked me to leave it in their storage. one of the guys said "it cant be over 35mm", which resulted in a 5 minute argument after which the guy agreed to have "not seen" the camera

so taking a big camera is risky, I also tried to take picture discreetly just in case.
