tshirts

that's a loaded question, but let me try asking a few questions to better help you.

1. How many shirts are you looking to print?

2. How many colors in the design?

3. Are you buying tees or having them made to spec?

4. Are you retailing them or giving them out?

if you're looking for the short/ easy answer, it's "plastisol". : )

Can I ask you something? These sunglasses: they're really nice. Are they like government issue, or do you guys all go to the same store together?

options:

1. hand screen them if you have a home kit.

2. pay a printer ALOT of money to do 5 shirts.

(most reputable printers won't take the job because they make their money while the presses are running)

Even with paying $25 per color set up, artwork/ separation charges, and per unit price, they still don't make any real profit on 5 shirts. this second option is unlikely, so don't count on it.

3. Pay for a small run of about 72 shirts, that how many come in a standard case.

It might cost you more overall, but you'll have 72.

Consider what you're trying to accomplish when weighing these options:

are you promoting something?

Is this a business venture?

Personal venture?

How much money are you willing to spend to get it done?

You might be able to barter for the printers services if you have something marketable to offer him in return.

you're welcome.

You can find the kits online, but I suggest going to your local art supply house and speaking with someone there. There are different types, some less expensive than others.

Get a manager in the store, and tell him/her what you're looking to do.

Get the name and model number of the kit and do some more

research online to see if you can get it for a better price.

SVA in NY offers night classes in screen printing that my co-worker is taking.

Check your local art school and see if classes are being offered.

OR, go work at a screenprinting place and learn while you get paid and you can probably get your shirts done for nothing.
