Take a look where I did a lil work with MS paint showing how there is thread that seemingly attaches the selvage edge to the denim itself . The gold side has it too but it is a muted yellowish thread that blends nicely with the gold selvedge . I noted those areas with purple dots if you cant see it ..

wtf is this and why do a selvage edge that needs attached just to fool consumers crazy .

Ive never seen this before need some insight please

I assume it's possible they made an inferior selvage and it is attached to the denim as a finishing edge , but just not properly and very loosely thus needing the extra locking of those threads ..

That could explain why it doesnt line up with the denim but this seems like so much trouble to go thru to fake a selvage

anyone ?

like i said before, this is what we call a "snitch stitch" cause it tells on itself...trust, i live in not only the capital of the confederacy, but also the capital of fake esneezus and dead funkys. this is a hot ghetto mess...is that gold shit the same thread as the chain stitch?

Are you guys sure ? I just got word from someone saying that is IS just cheaper selvage - That the edges ARE part of the denim the stitching is just there for whatever reasons .

He said that GAP and Jcrew Selvage jeans have had something similar though not as obvious on theirs in the past . He said it's visible much more on the underside of those jeans

SO I guess it must be made on a loom not made for denim , then stitched for worry of coming loose ??

um salammi where did you " said this before " about " snitch stitches "
