hemp is an incredible plant. the purpose of this thread is to discuss the benefits of hemp and how we can encourage the use of this eco-friendly plant.

hemp has a huge amount of industrial, medicinal and other uses.

specifically, read his book, "the emperor wears no clothes" which you can get completely free off of his website.

we on superfuture are in love with cotton, but cotton is a disaster ecologically. it's inefficient to grow and requires a huge amount of chemicals in the form of pesticides and fertilizers. also, processing cotton takes a lot of chemicals and man power.

hemp is stronger, more efficient to grow, more ecologically friendly and renewable than cotton. it's a shame that our government has made hemp growing illegal to satisfy the demands of the lumber, paper, textile, drug and oil industries.

i encourage the people of superfuture to contribute to this discussion. perhaps, we can find a way to create clothing made out of hemp that is fashionable and at the same time environmentally friendly.

there are many companies that make hemp jeans, but their styles usually suck.

someday, i hope we can make a superfuture jean made out of hemp with a fashion-forward cut.

Quick question about hemp. Fabric made from hemp, can it be made as soft as cotton? Most of the hemp I've seen has a rougher texture similar to canvas, but my knowledge of hemp is almost non-existent. I've seen shoes made of hemp, and I have to say they usually look pretty lovely.

hemp fibers are actually softer than cotton (up to 4x softer).
