Selvage Denim vs. Overpriced "name brands"

I stopped reading the thread after I read bobo's post...

I can't comment on how good the denim brands in the middle of nowhere that I have never heard of are... as I have never heard of them.

Regardless, I still agree with what I said before. Principles are the same reason that Gordon will never have True Religions and Sevens laying beside the Saurai and Warehouse denim in BiG, even though it would bring new customers into the shop.

The rich v. poor is a horse of a different color. Obviously, there are more important things to think about when you are scraping by then self-actualization. I thought that we were talking about spending money on shitty lifestyle brands as opposed to products that warranted the price.

The first thing you see is packaging. So much it is when we pick our food or anything else. If we eat we don't go "oh this looks and smells like goose shit, but hey, maybe it's superficial, let's have a go maybe it'll taste good".

Let's face it, and let's be honest, as much as you are a golden person inside, but if you don't package yourself well, then it's going to be harder for people to see it - since the outside is already unappealing.

And then there's the monkey-wrench that messes up everyone's assumptions. He gets more 'gina than anyone, mannish, flemmish, stinky, hildog, and otherwise. And he don't wear sammies, TRs, diesel, or anything else

i know im gonna catach lots of hate for this but anyway:

I have a pair of sean john jeans that i got in 8th grade for christmas (2002), which still fit me because back then i was in my baggy clothing stage, the jeans were huge lol. I've worn them a decent amount of times (not as much anymore, I just wear them now as my "i dont care" jeans), and i have had NO problems with them.

anyway, my point is that the whole "jeans construction" thing is highly overrated. I havent noticed a difference between selvedge and non-selvedge jeans in terms of how they hold up to washes and wear

^embroidered on his back. Painful.

And sohosomething, maybe you don't really do anything in your jeans because I've definitely had jeans die on me and I've noticed a difference between 'sufu denim' and 'regular denim'. Not necessarily selvage but the construction and weight of the denim.

+1 I had noticed a huge difference. Shitty quality , fit is terrible , and the list goes on.
