The UK version is all about Ricky Gervais, the rest of the cast is incredibly boring. The US version has a substantially better ensemble, and seems more thought out than the UK counterpart.

me too. they definitely changed carell's character tho from season 1 to 2. he went from being a prick to a lovable idiot. still love the series to what it has become. big fan of the UK version too!! gervais is the boss you love to hate..

truth. ricky gervais is so fucking brilliant, in a different way than steve carell. in my own opinion, ricky trumps steve any day of the week. the british somehow pull off dry humor way better (see monty python).

I cant belive there are people out there that think the US one is better, let alone cant watcht the UK version. Then again I guess the US one is tailored to typical US audiences...

Extras is awesome, but I'm not sure if I'm willing to say it's better than the office yet?

Second season of extras was very different to the first, but it grew on me very quickly, David Bowie episode is funny as, but my favorite scences from extras are the stupid slapstick ones for some reason! like the soup bowl and the fizzy water!

has everyone seen this by the way? Ricky Gervais's band called Seona Dancing, Bowie rip!

My favourite Steven Merchant bit is his little cameo in the office as the oggmonster!

Funniest thing I have ever seen without a doubt though is the special features of the first season of extras DVD, most noteably "taping nigel"

I was well surprised by how good the American version was after watching the UK version first.

I honestly expected it to be just the UK script but with an American cast but they've added so much more to an already awesome show.
