Not to hijack the post, but I'm also looking for a pair of jeans similar to the Nudie RR but not dry denim...any recommendations? I'm basically looking for a straight fit, and a lighter-coloured distressed wash...and oh, it doesn't have to be selvage.

I guess something similar to the Nudie 'Worn Broken' wash...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry but APC fit is nothing like the RR fit.. If you want RRs, why not by them? You can get pre-distressed ones.. Other than that, these are pretty close:

whiskey, how exactly is the Nudie RR fit different from APC? I must say that the word Nudie stuck in my head after seeing the photos of your pair at four months.

The Nudie RR's leg opening is wider than the APCs. Also, the Nudie's are a bit narrower in the knee area than the APCs. (This applies to both the APC English and Rescues)

. . . and those 5ep jeans that were linked on www.activeendeavors.com are totally not like RR. for one they taper, and two the rise looks pretty high.

Well, the Nudie jeans and APC jeans just have a pretty different feel to them. The Nudies have lower back pockets, more sloped different pocket shapes, and an overall slouchier cut to them, while the APC's are very plain and archetypal - they're boxier and more masculine. They look a bit more professional and not so slouchy/trendy as the Nudies. Two different schools of jeans really, both are great and you're surely going to get some excellent fading no matter which pair you choose.

Every pair of expensive jeans I've tried on has paled in comparison to my Regular Ralfs.

I hope the Straight Sven is as good as the RR

I agree, the Nudies (although I don't own a pair) and the APC are two different styles.

The Nudies are more like rock and young people and sexyness, while the APC are formal, sober, minimalist. I like both for different reasons

By the way, what do you mean Nudie RRs look slouchier? They didn't look it (the way I understand the word) from the photos I've seen so far?

It means the RRs are cut slightly large on the waist, so that they can be worn low-slung on the hips. The long back pockets could also be described as 'slouchy' I suppose. Very nice jeans and the dry denim is lovely.
