Samurai help

Im new to Samurai. I just got a friend to pick me up a pair of S5000VX (W30L36) from blueingreen and ive got a little over an inch of slack in the waste. Im wondering if there gonna be too tight after i soak them? I need them hemmed as well, do you guys recommend getting them hemmed before or after soaking them? Also what are some slimmer cuts of samurai?

1) About an 1-2 inches too tight (they shrink about 3 inches and then stretch to about tag + 1 in my experiences

2) Definitely hemmed before for the roping effect

3) 505 / 710
