mickey finn was always pretty reliable for that kind of thing tho i think most of his cd releases (jungle warfare, explicit bass) were mc-less and sort of later on.

as you probably know most mixes from back in the day were on cassette so you'll have to find someone with a lot of time on their hand to get a digital copy

Oh, I'm not looking for old mixes like the cassettes rotting in my basement, I'm looking for more recent successors in interest. Sorry for the shit phrasing.

on a more serious note, anyone want to throw out some names of guys producing jungle these days? I know plenty of modern ragga jungle guys but im trying to branch out. Just looking for nasty breaks/amens and real bass, ala suburban base, dj hype, remarc, etc. circa 95. please no wobble, 2 step, boring stuff, or anything to get me inside the ride.

how about stuff like evol intent or ewun? or some new stuff on metalheads? might be worth checking out. once you know some specific tunes/artists you're into, i'll be glad to help direct you towards similar shit.

I am listening to dj shadow entroducing, and the song what does your soul look remixed by peshay got me all nostalgic. I haven't listend to dnb for song long. I wonder if those guys from metalheadz, V are still around?

yes, many of them are still around, but they make shitty music now. There are a bunch of newer folks on Metalheadz though who are doing great music in the vein of the old days. not as good, but not bad.

tell me some of the artists you're into and I can recommend some more for you :)
i was big into pendulum before their new album.

andy c, dieselboy, dilinja, arphodite..then some random tracks here and there...Subfocus (airplane was ill, imo)

mc skibadee tracks were fun sometimes

if you were into pre-pop Pendulum then you'd probably like stuff on the Commercial Suicide label which is run by Klute. his music is fantastic and the artists he signs for his label are as well.

bigger tunes like the stuff andy c or dsl plays... artists like noisia, phace, evol intent, etc.

hope that helps.

i'm most into stuff that's deep/musical, but with an edge, and not over-the-top. in my opinion, some of the top producers consistently & prolifically making these kind of tunes these days are:

-Calibre

-D-Bridge

-Commix

-Spirit

-Break

-Survival

-Zero T(olerance)

-Marcus Intalex

-Seba

-Naibu

-Spectrasoul

not an exhaustive list but new tunes by these guys never disappoint

Add Alix Perez and I think this would be about perfect
