Just got a pair for $160 I thought it was a good deal, who cares anyway.

It seems they don't come with an insole, you know the thing you take out.

Did I get a defective pair or what?

No, they do not come with insoles, hence the reason that you make sure when you buy them, you try them on with the insoles that you will be buying.

You can wear them without insoles if you want, some people do, but they are much more comfortable with insoles. I splurged on the most expensive red wing ones, about 45 I think. They are the equivalent of superfeet, although these ones you can warm up in an oven and then mold them to your feet. Expensive but supportive and comfy as hell.

i grabbed my pair for $60 on superclearance at aNYthing. i just have a shitty dr scholls insole in them right now, but the roomy toe should allow you to experiment with some insoles.

i wore them for the first few days without insoles and walked way too much. i definitely recommend insoles unless the inner leather sole will eventually break in.

I wear them without insoles, but it isn´t really comfy. Hoping the leather will break in though. I got a slim last (intended for wear with thinner socks) which turned out to be a bit slimmer than I imagined, so I can´t really fit any thicker insoles. Something superthin maybe...

they had some 12" and some in black about a week ago, but only like 1-2 sizes in each.
