Fashion Magazines in NYC???

Hey!

I'm a photographer, currently based in Paris and I'm looking for some cool fashion magazines in NYC. I'm moving to New York for the summer and I'd be glad, if some locals (of course, anybody else's help is appreciated) could name some of their favourite magazines..

Surface magazine fashion design etc(features a lot of unknown photographers and the quality of work is usually outstanding )

Res magazine Film, art, music etc ( features a dvd with video clips with each issue if you are subscribed ). A lot of up and coming artists featured.

Lastly I highly recommend you check out Big Magazine, it's strictly photography with little to no commentary. Each issue is focused on one subject for example Paris, Space, Vip, Scandinavia, Technology etc. High quality work. Bit pricey per issue but each issue will be good to keep for years to come.

especially good if you are there for a short term stay(a lot of sublet and temporary ads ).

You may feel cautious about renting from something found on there but me and a lot of other people have done it many times. I have always had a good experience with it.But be careful of scams!

by the way what do you like to read in France?

I like Wad Magazine a lot but the thing is so big it takes forever to read each issue!

Otherwise Stiletto.... can't really think of anything else. There's also Shoes Up for sneakers even if I find the magazine design to be a bit crap it's unfortunate it's like that

If you could recommend anything I'd love it. Having a hard time spotting what's cool to read here but the magazine selection here in Alsace kind of sucks

/\ don't meant to blast your post, but *wallpaper is a British mag (although I think it's American owned now). Surface is all right though - their NYC office is in Dumbo (although it's a SF publication).

check out HE magazine, i found it at barnes and nobles of all places...one of the best fashion magazines ive come across..interviews with the people at acne, interview of ann demeulemeester, the guy from number (9), tons of fashion shoots..well worth the $10.
