there's nothing "wrong" with 574's, but it's the same with nike dunks. It's been completely "whored out" with every material and colorway possible. I never liked em to begin with they're so fucking bulky, but they're one of the first classics to be made in china, i keep it real with my USA 1300 grey colorway.

i totally back 574s, have since highschool thrift store shoppin smiths listening with art school girlfriend days. its hard for me to hear that they're "prepster" (i heard on SA that they're "frat", but whatever)

I've planned on picking up one of these since the dude at the NB store showed me the small low quality print out thumbnails of them, red would be an obvious choice for me but that green is kinda nice and would be different

i agree here. if you're buying from japan in the first place you can find the trail 555, trail 575 (before the UK fucked with em) and the 999's in awesome colorways and for DEEP discount, almost more than 1/2 retail...just personal preference i suppose.

if you're buying a special ed. colorway out of japan or the UK, i agree -- no reason to go 574. that said, there will always be a pair of all-black 574s (reflective N) in my closet. cheap, minimalist and easy to find...
