So i just wanted to show you guys what i won off ebay there the Evisu Hank Dyed jeans, dipped into indigo 30 times by hand and limited to 100 pairs.

Evisu Ltd Edition Hank-Dyed Indigo Denim Jeans

ev1.jpgIf you want to get yourself an extra special pair of jeans then have a look at this limited edition hand dyed pair from Evisu. Your average jeans are made from denim that has been made using the "rope dyed" method which is controlled by a machine. The above jeans are made using the "hank dyed" method which means that one man has manually dipped the denim into an indigo bath up to 30 times. What all this means is that these jeans have a unique colour and they are only available in an extremely limited edition.

^took that from denimology

bought em from ebay size 32 either deciding to keep them or getting the natural onis, but to be honest im leaning to the 19 oz onis

anyone interested in the evisus Id be willing to let em go for something in the 600 range

here are some pics from the auction

If I were to consider these, Oni's, PBJ AI, and those new Kicking Mule's, I think these would be at the bottom of the list. I checked them out at American Rag (where they sell for nearly 2 freaking thousand) and wasn't really that impressed. Of the aforementioned, I only have experience with the AI, but I'd imagine the Oni's have to be something special.

Also, Evisu Deluxe is a Euro Evisu line, not Japanese right?

neilfuji on hank dyeing, taken from http://www.superfuture.com/supertalk/showthread.php?t=2415&page=8

There are many systems used to brew and fix the dyes, one of the best is hank dying, the system is simple to do but hard to perfect. The raw spun yarn is looped over a wooden hook (this is the hank of cotton), washed spring water to open the fibres and then dipped into the indigo dye, it can be left in there for anything up to 48 hours then washed this time in very cold spring water and the process is repeated until the tone is reached, this can take some time, over a week of dying in some cases, after the tone you need is reached the hank is then steamed to fix the colour and then dyed still on the hank, this system allows the indigo to fix into the core of the yarn and is not as hard on it as a chemically fixing process would be.

There are many version of this dying system, using many different dyes and fixings, we use the traditional system as it’s kinder to the yarn and reduces the need for over starching our finished product

so no, it's not engrish, and denimology is inaccurate.

if these have a serial number, they were like 650-700

there were a size range from the same spanish seller without serial numbers for 349.99

if i recall correctly, the seller only had size 33 in the serial number edition, so these would probably be the latter as opposed to the former.

I dont know what this means but yeah its the $349 edition i figured that he was trying to start the bid low and try to do have multiple bids come in to increase the price. Which would justify why he had another pair selling for 900 dollars. So yeah i dont want anyone here to think im trying to rip em off but i still wanna either sell them or return them is anyone interested for $500 shipped? im assuming thats a fair price because its the same hank dyed jean and limited to 100 pairs? right..?

derdankhund what do you mean by it doesnt have serial numbers?

Why would you spend two grand on those when you could get origianl Levis from the 50s for less than that.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=019&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=290062427951&rd=1&rd=1

I gotta tell ya even for a c note those wouldn't be high on my list.

i wonder what percentage of posters here have a waist size 40 and above.

why do you care

what about hank

i'm just pointing out that while airfrogusmc posted an ebay ad for a pair of vintage levis as a cheaper yet "better" alternative, the jeans would probably be considerably more expensive if they were a more common (usually more desirable) waist size rather than 40". especially when it comes to this forum.

i saw these exact same pairs at harvey nichols today (the 27th) in the mens bottom floor on the onsale denim rack for 150 pounds. originally 300+ pounds. i swear they were the same ones. they've got same distinct pattern, and are stiff as hell. very thick. much thicker and stiffer than my ironhearts. they felt real nice and looked pretty good, although i dont like the "pattern". they were like waist size 32-34 i forgot.
