I got a pair of Red Moon jeans in Tokyo last week. They are AWESOME. Super thin and tight. Mine are model #201 and I sized down to 30 (i'm usually a 32 or so). They are one wash (they did not have raw). Sadly, these were the only jeans I bought in Japan. I wanted to buy some Somets, but their shop was not where it is supposed to be (based on the map on their website). Their phone number also didn't work. The Red Moons are basically just like Jean Shop Rockers, but with slubbier denim and a better fit. They both have selvage in the fly, a zipper, lined back pockets, orange pocket (different shade) bags, the same coin pocket (but Red Moon's will actually fit something,) and the rivets are the same (at least the same as my Jean Shops with the crappy rivets).

+1 on the patch, too big. I do like the idea of the leather piece inside the back pocket to prevent Red Moon Hole Syndrome.

mikesduc----the pocket lining is too low to prevent RMHS; the hole would occur above the arcuate. half-lined pockets aren't going to help with that, unfortunately. sc40400n's are fully lined, if that is really a concern.

The pockets are lined with cloth, not leather. The rivets are not really crappy, they are just the 1966+ Levi's type. I prefer the 40's Levi's type. They are at least solid copper, where my jeans shop's are alloy.

echoing that...what sort of alloy do they use on such rivets? how different are they to copper in terms of durability, etc (and why would you prefer copper)?

also: i cannot imagine what sort of beauty that patch might turn into...as it is some of those skull and eternal jeans patches are pretty amazing.

they switched to an aluminum-backed rivets for their 66 jeans-----not as durable as copper. copper is just a nicer metal, more expensive (i recently replaced the aluminum gutters of my house for copper-----so much nice, ages very nicely, but very very expensive)
