If it's just a cold/flu get some Thera-Flu. Drink one when you want to go to sleep, and if you don't have to do anything the next day drink another one when you wake up. It helps you sleep and has some good medicines & vitamins to help your immune system.

positive thinking . . . it sounds lame and new age and it's probably the only instance where I actually try to think positive. but whenever I feel like i'm getting sick I try to keep telling myself that I won't get sick over and over. I think it actually works to an extent.

as lame as this sounds, i do the same.......i believe in it! the mind is a powerful tool

I get a cold regularly once or twice a year, lately I've managed to actually avoid it. as soon as I start feeling like its coming I start eating vitamin C, about 1500mg a day (3 tablets) plus other vitamins too and I've gotten rid of it before it even really starts. you might get an upset stomach from the C though

Another good one! On the other hand, sometimes when I'm at work and want to go home sick, I can actually make myself feel sick just by thinking it. Same thing somewhat works with positive thinking!
