Has anyone altered their Nudies?

Alright, this is a somewhat weird question, but I am wondering if anyone has altered their Nudies. More specifically, their RRDS?

The reason I am asking this is because I am about to purchase another pair of RRDS. I washed my last pair too early and now I don't like the color of the denim, and they are almost too short for me. Regardless, they have been replaced by my Svenska's, which I love dearly. The problem with my Svenska's is that I find them a bit baggy. I don't mind wearing loose jeans, but there are times when I want something tighter. My old RRDS and my Svenska's are both a 32 waist. The new pair of RRDS I am picking up will be a 31 waist.

I have tried on various slim Nudies like the Slim Jim and they simply do not compliment my frame at all. For reference, I have absolutely no ass, but I have a very large chest so wearing slim jeans looks very disproportionate. I have a good feeling about the 31 waist RRDS, but there is one problem: I *HATE* bootcut. Don't ask me why, but I absolutely hate bootcut. It just reminds me of True Religion, or some other 'gino' brand. Not feelin' it one bit.

I was wondering if anyone has altered their RRDS (or similar jeans)? I would like to alter them to a straight leg.. almost tappered. Is it worth the effort? I am picking up the Nudies for *DIRT* cheap ($100 new). What do you guys think?

I'll be able to tell you tomorrow evening. I'm picking up my SSDS from the tailor. I bought them a size too big in the waist and the legs were just too loose for my liking. I had them taken in by 1/2" to 3/4" for a slimmer fit that will hopefully be closer to my SD 103s.

As for altering bootcut to straight, there have been many threads on this subject and the consensus is yes, you can do it. I actually had it done to some Levi's Skinners and it worked just fine.

Also, I had my Bear's Eternals slimmed down, and that worked out well too.

The only problem I encountered was that my Skinners had a twist in the legs after they had been altered, but this is just a problem with the way they were cut and sewn and not a problem inherent in straightening bootcut jeans.

Whether it's worth the effort depends on if you can find a straight/tapered jean that fits you well for the same or better price than you're paying for the Nudies. It probably won't cost much to have your Ralphs straightened. It costs me just less than $20 to have these types of alterations done.

Hope this helps.

I had my Nudie Veggie Indigo Ralf's tailored to match my Jims from the knee down. Here's the link in MyNudies.com to the thread, with pics.

Damn.. those look awesome (from what I can see.. those pictures are horrid haha).

Good news: my Svens turned out well. The legs now fit like I want them too, as in if I had bought the right size. Montreal, let us know how it goes for you.

Do you have any pics? Preferably of them worn on your body?

Thanks!
