New Roots album...

Is anyone else disapointed with the new Roots album? I've been a huge fan since Organix, but this new one is really short and not all that good.

I think I mentioned it in the new hip-hop thread, I was dissapointed as well, a couple of ok tracks but thats it.

i saw them in west chester pa last fall, it was a fucking joke, they have fallen far since things fall apart, now they only play jams for white kids and do medlies at the end of their set. fucking sad

thats lame. they used to put on the greatest free shows in philly every summer. good times...

roots free shows are better; they play better, i mean. more honest. the more you pay to see them, the more bloated their performance.

yeah, i saw them for free in gainesville back in 2000, and it was great.

as far as albums, i stopped paying attention after things fall apart.

IMO, Organix, Do You Want More and Illadelph Halflife are three of the best rap albums ever. All three in my top 10.

anyone heard the news that Peedi Peedi might become a part of The Roots?

if it works out it could be good, I think he can compliment Black Thought pretty good with higher voice and quick flow plus I'm interested in hearing new stuff from him. Long Time was my favorite track of the album.
