Good day guys!!!

I'm a pretty much a newbie about denim.

I was out in the metro a couple of days ago in search for a new pair or raw/dry denim. Nudie's are non-existent here in the Philippines and almost all the attendants in the stores i went(Levi's, Lee, etc.) doesn't even now what raw denims are. even I don't know what they really are(looks, feel). so it's pretty obvious that raw denim is pretty unknown here. btw, i live in the Philippines. so basically, i was browsing every store and looking for a pair of raw denim jeans. i was doing a manula search (base on my understanding) raw denims are.:o so i finally saw some Guess jeans by Marciano that fits my understanding about "raws".

I would like to know, are these raw denim jeans?

I bought these for 999.00PHP($18+/-)

well, while i'm at it, ii soaking my jeans in water for about an hour ruin its color? how often should i starch my jeans, every wash?

 thanks for the info about the APC store here... was in a hurry when i bought this pair. just went to 5 malls to check on jeans.

about my other question, base on what the pictures tell, are these raw denim jeans? on-wash maybe? or are these washed but dyed in a certain way so that it'll look raw... the tags doesn't tell much... so i'm pretty much clueless:o :D

those jeans are washed-----the hem looks all "baked and crumpled"; dead giveaway.

thanks for the answer sir... but...

erm, actually i got this pair shortened to my desired length. (the pics are the shortened ones) the original length's kinda long for me. i dont want to cuff them(just not my style) co i really like wearing flip-flops and sandals.

Makata kang tunay, majikero. Pero dapat tayong mabalik sa usapan, kung hindi, isasara ito.

Tingnan mo 'yung loob ng back pocket, kung pareho'ng kulay most likely it hasn't gone through a wash, 'di ba? Anyway, you already hemmed it up, so you can't return it.

Ingat sila sa 'yo.

thanks for the reply guys. superfuture's awesome!

one other query, about starching... how often should i do it?

i starched 'em already before using it and im wondering when is the next i should do it.

and from what i can recall reading, starching won't damage the fabric. but as they say, too much of anything is bad... so , how often is too much?

thanks in advance.

wow!!!

sorry if i started a new thread about my questions... i've used the search option a lot of times, read those thread, re-read them a million times, still haven't found what answer i was looking for. all i've found were answers that relates to starching but not the answers i was looking for (i,e. starch them to get them rigid again, starch them to bring back the shine, blah-blah)

mods can lock/delete this thread if it's such a hassle to this forum.:)

at least he isnt supplada! But yeah, i was in the PI last week and was unable to locate the APC store. Is it in the Shangri-la center across from Mega Mall? Does anyone know if prices are adjusted to peso standards? On another note, pinoys cant live without their malls, or chain restaurants. Max's Chicken: ang sarap to the mother fucking bone!

Majikero,

No real rules on starching. You don't even have to starch raw denim. It'll just take longer for the creases to show, and they won't be as sharp. There's a guy who starched his pants so much, they're standing up. Some guy says he starches every 3 days. Someone else suggested (or maybe he actually did it) that you bring a little spray bottle of starch solution and spray those creases whenever they start looking flat.

Malinaw?
