With all the music threads on here lately, this topic has been at the center of much debate between my friends and I over the years. I don't want to start with what I think is the tops, so let me see yours and I'll trump them all later.

Hendrix definitely, and that Machine Gun recording would be hard to beat. The live recording of Hear My Train A' Comin' that was on the Rainbow Bridge LP - it might have been from a San Diego concert - was killer, and the Maui shows in June 1970 during filming of Rainbow Bridge yielded some amazing feedback tone as well, despite well-documented acoustic and recording problems at the show.

CMF, honorable mention for bringing the late great Robert Quine.

Allright-

It seems as though this subject has run out of steam.

So here now, is the winner-

On the Fu Manchu album Action Is Go track number 13 is called Saturn III.

There is a short pause between the intro and beginning of the first part of the song when one of the guitar players steps on one of his pedals, and the resulting feedback sounds like Godzilla tearing the Sears Tower in half.

Here endeth the lesson.

I'm a bit late but I can't believe people listed The Beatles and Bob fucking Marley in this thread. How about:

Nebula "Fall of Icarus"

The Melvins "The Fool, The Medling Idiot" & "Copache"

Cherubs "Oh" off of Short of Popular

and Sam113, I thought for sure you were going to choose "Horsemeat" by the King Salmon-- long live Okay's Corral.
