classic shoes

Recommended Posts

Sorry for today's third topic, but I'm in sort of a pinch to get an updated wardrobe in a hurry. I am looking for recommendations in <$100 classic shoes (men) to be worn with jeans/khakis. I've come across a few rockports hovering around the $85 mark, some are pretty slick looking.

Any of you have a specific line of product you're in love with? Look forward to your responses.

"There was nothing I hated more than to see a green-horned wet-behind-the-ears noobie creating useless threads in spite of the searchable archive of sage posts of his forefathers and going blurp blurp in between as if it were a filthy old orchestra in his stinking rotten guts. I could never stand to see anyone like that, especially when they didn't use the search function like this one."

didnt he say gutty wutts?

anyways. clockwork orange has to be my favorite film of all time. it was the first to change my perspective on film. ive watched it a good 20 times. and unlike many movie/book combinations, one isnt better thean the other and vice versa. they both are masterpieces in thier own right.

and about the shoes. wallys and deck shoes do the trick. so do slip ons. particularly ones that look like the vans slip ons.

Did someone say Wallys? Hey I'm selling those over in the supermarket...just fyi!

I agree with the desert boot recommendation, they look nice (Staples/Best-Buy employee-ish, business casual?) with jeans and khakis. You can usually find somebody making tan desert boots from anywhere from $40-400, but Clarks are a good brand and in your price range.

Is anyone here from Australia and old enough to remember the obsession with Rollers, ca. 1989-1990'ish? Those black desert boots with the kind of knubbed sole, maybe haptronic or someone might know. I always thought were cool, and wanted desert boots ever since.

I went out in high school and bought my first pair of real 'nice' shoes, reddish-brown Ferragamo captoe laceup oxfords with leather soles, I got them for about $150 on sale if I remember. I still have them and wear them often when the occasion is right, and they still look great, 7+ years and going.
